Sunday, February 28th, 2010I believe this is the first time I’ve ever taken pictures of a sunset during the winter. I guess the lesson is, you’re not going to get good photos if you don’t get out there.

There’s nothing like a walk in the woods, even in winter.
Taken at the UW Arboretum today.
I take a lot of nature photos. Sometimes I wonder if I concentrate on that kind of thing too much. To expand my repertoire a bit, I headed downtown late Sunday afternoon, to shoot some of the buildings.
Despite the continuing below-normal temperatures, I needed to connect with the outdoors today. Late this afternoon, I visited a frozen Lake Monona.
Dad came with me on my trip (he wanted to spend some time at the National Cathedral and the National Archives). It was good having a traveling companion along.
While I was in Washington DC for the Computers in Libraries conference, I took a couple vacation days to see some of the sights.

Unfortunately, the cherry blossoms peaked about a week before I was there.
While I was in Washington DC, I was able to do a little sight seeing.
