Now with photo zoom

Sunday, February 3rd, 2008

For a while now, I’ve been looking for a decent method to display larger photos on this site (some pictures look so much better at larger sizes). I finally settled on Highslide JS, a very nice javascript thumbnail viewer. Just click on the photograph to zoom out to a larger version. It also lets you drag the larger image around, and open up multiple images at once. Pretty slick, huh?

Winter mode

Saturday, December 1st, 2007

It’s been pretty cold here in Madison for the past week, and this morning our first big winter storm of the season began.

Snowstorm on Park Ridge Drive

Today I’ve officially gone into Winter mode. I put a batch of chili in the crock pot, and dug my humidifier out of the closet. While those shocks from static electricity are fun at first, it gets a little old after a few times. I also took my first pictures of snow for the season, from the warm side of my patio door of course.

Yes, winter has arrived.

The great snow

Sunday, February 25th, 2007

A pretty big winter storm has been hitting the upper great lakes region this weekend.

Sunday snowstorm

Sunday, January 21st, 2007

After I was whining about a lack of winter weather earlier this month, it has been very wintry here over the past week or so. We’ve had a couple of snowstorms and typically cold temperatures.

This was the scene outside my door this morning.
