I was walking the U.W. campus when this smokestack caught my eye. It’s from the former Agricultural Heating Station, built in 1901. The building is on the National Register of Historic Places.

The design of the two buildings on this block (looking southeast from Doty Street) is fascinating. Were they intentionally created to mirror each other? Someday, I just might have to get up early and capture the sunrise here.
Getting the shot
As I was about to take a photo of the Monona Terrace Convention Center, I noticed another photographer in the distance, reaching high to get the shot he wanted. I couldn’t resist zooming in and capturing him in that pose.
