When I walked into my bedroom this late this afternoon, I was struck by the shadows created by the window blinds and the dreamcatcher hanging over my bed.

Soaring eagles

I had a LOT of bald eagle sightings when I was in northern Wisconsin.

My favorite happened late one afternoon while I was reading in a lounge chair at my campsite. Dark movement in the sky hit my peripheral vision. I looked up, and there was this eagle, soaring on the wind, scanning the shallows of the lake for fish.

Hiking through Copper Falls

I also visited Copper Falls State Park while vacationing in Northern Wisconsin earlier this month.

Copper Falls State Park

The most scenic views of the park are along the Doughboys’ Nature Trail. Along that thick, wooded trail, you get great views of the deep gorges and park’s largest waterfalls.

Bicycling on E. Washington Ave.

The City of Madison held an event today called Ride the Drive. They closed almost six miles of downtown streets to all vehicular traffic, and let the bicyclists have free reign for six hours.
