On a very cold day, the mighty sun will still melt snow, even if it’s just a few drops that freeze again.

I think Lake Monona is getting into the holiday spirit. Making ornaments from cold air and water.

Mallard ducks (which are very common in Wisconsin) are not as fearful of humans as other wildlife can be.

Being fairly tame, they don’t seem to mind posing for some closeups.
