When I was driving to Minneapolis a couple of weeks ago, I stopped at the rest area along I-94 near Black River Falls, to stretch my legs a bit and check out the trail there that leads to a scenic overlook.
To get to the overlook, you follow a 550 foot boardwalk that’s built into the hillside. The scenic overlook was okay, but what I really found captivating was the experience of walking through the top of a mostly-bare forest.

Great photos of the walk way. Perspective of the photos is excellent. The barren trees, the clear walk way – the black and white of the photo – all causes some musing – like path ahead often cannot be seen completely – but you stay on the boardwalk that is clear – walking through barren areas of the mind and soul – like barren trees in winter – but you keep moving ahead – following the trail – one step at a time – and eventually your goal is reached – on a nature trail or in many other life situations. The photo should be exhibited in a photographic essay contest. Your good!
Thanks for the kind words Dad. I like the metaphors you thought of while looking at the photos. They make a nice addition to the post.
