Hiking through peak yellow

Yellow maple trees along a hiking trail

I spent the afternoon hiking one of my favorite local spots for autumn colors, the U.W. Lakeshore Nature Preserve. There is nothing like being in the middle of the forest there, when the maple trees are at peak color and the sun is lighting them up.
