Military Ridge trail

May 8, 2019Bicycling, LandscapeJonathan

Gravel trail on a prairie leading into the distance, cutting through a line of trees

I took advantage of the beautiful weather last Sunday, and went biking on the Military Ridge State Trail.

Recreational trail crossing a river, with both leading into the distance

Built on a former Chicago & North Western railroad line, the trail crosses the Sugar River several times as it makes its way through the country. The Friends of the Military Ridge Trail has a nice history of the trail and how it was named.
