People standing on a shore of large red rocks, with trees in the background and four kayaks in the water

The hiking trails along the southeastern edge of Big Bay State Park (where I camped on Madeline Island) provide excellent views of the granite rocks that line the shore of Lake Superior there.

Large granite boulders on the edge of the shore with a forest of trees on the side, and a small tree growing on a boulder in the middle of the shallow water

A beach of rounded small stones along the lake, and a large rocky shore in the background lined with trees
