Spotted a common loon the other day (Lake Monona is a migration rest stop for them). First time capturing one of those wearing their winter coat! Their plumage is more drab grey/brown this time of year for better camouflage along the coast and waters of the south.

Sadly I didn’t have my longest lens with me, but with some cropping, I didn’t think these turned out too bad. Made my day to see one there!
