Winter is coming

A forked tree branch hangs over the water covered in icicles. Water is splashing from the waves and driping down the icicles.

Meanwhile, along the shore of Lake Mendota, below normal temperatures and a brutal wind brought a sure sign of winter’s impending arrival.

Rocks and a small branch along the shore are covered with a layer of ice from the crashing waves.

A very large tree branch lies vertically over the water. It covered in thick ice, and dripping icicles hang down the full length of the branch.
