Shining like a beacon
As I hiked through the woods I could see a flash of white in the distance, almost shining like a beacon through the dense foliage. Getting closer, I could see what it was… a huge trillium blossom.

I find the tiny beginnings of tree leaves to be just as beautiful as spring flowers. These are brand new leaves from two different oak trees.

These are new leaves (and flowers) of a boxelder tree.

Hear anything down there? I recently learned that American robins listen for worms underground as they hunt.
