As early as 900 A.D., native peoples carved petroglyphs and pictographs into the sandstone at Roche-A-Cri State Park. You will also find carvings from people of European descent (as well as few pieces of modern graffiti).

I’ve never been to Roche-A-Cri. Photo helps remind me of the variety of landscape found in our great state – also of our native American ancestors who had their own special way to communicate. Thanks for making memory possible.
