These sandhill cranes were kind enough to pause for a portrait.
Not for long though. Turns out, they’re much more interested in hunting for food in the grass than getting their photo taken.

Enjoying all the fall colors/scenery via your photos. When seeing photos of Sand Hill Cranes can’t help reflecting on how cruel it is for those who want to hunt them.

Thanks for the comment! I couldn’t agree more with you about that current bill in the Wisconsin legislature that includes a sandhill crane hunting season. Saw an interesting post from the International Crane Foundation (linked below) listing the reasons why a Wisconsin hunt is a bad idea. Let’s hope that legislation does not come to pass.
