Winter sign

November 26, 2021Lakes, Snow & IceJonathan

A fallen tree on the shore of a lake that isn't frozen. It's covered with a layer of ice. The bottom side of the tree is lined with icicles above the water.

It was cold along the shore of Lake Mendota today. Winter is coming…

Two branches are just touching the water of a lake. Ice has formed a cone shape at the point each branch touches the water. The branches and ice are being reflected in the water below them.

A large tree branch that has fallen into the water curves as it breaks the surface. Ice coats the branch just above the water, and large and small icicles have formed from the branch down to the water surface.
