Angles and light

View looking down from the second floor of a grand, three-story, marble stairway. Ornamental wall sconces line the walls, and the interior of the Capital dome can be seen in the background.

The other day I went to the Capitol with the intention of photographing the Christmas tree. I found myself wandering the building and marveling at the wonderful architecture (like the light and angles of this stairway).

View looking up from the first floor of a grand, three-story, marble stairway. Light shines through an exit door in the distance and a skylight in the ceiling.

  1. Thanks for sharing architecture and art of both the capitol (Dec. 13) and nature (Dec.9).
There is beauty in many places if we just take the time to see. Enjoyable.

  2. Appreciate the comment, thank you. The Capitol sure is an amazing building. Every time I’m in there I see something cool I haven’t noticed before.
