The new Eagle Tower

Looking up at a three-story, wooden observation tower and structure of a ramp leading to the top.

I finally got to see Peninsula State Park’s new Eagle Tower! Built in 2021, it replaced the old Eagle Tower which had to be torn down in 2016.

A bicyclist rides past an observation tower next to some parked cars and trees along the road.

The new structure, made to be fully accessible, is a marvel of engineering. It reminds me of an old railroad trestle. You can tell how much I appreciated it by how many photos I took.

A wooden walkway ramp makes a U shape in the middle of a forest as it continues higher.

Using the ramp to get up to the top provides a unique view of the forest canopy, and the scenic vistas from the top are as nice as I remember from the old tower.

View from the top of the observation tower. An island and lake are in the background under blue skies. Also seen are trees and parked cars below.
