My new kitchen is almost complete! Monday, the counters arrived, and yesterday the plumber was here to hookup the sink and dishwasher. Yes, I actually have running water in the kitchen!
I say almost complete because I’m waiting for the the cabinet pulls (which are pewter). They should look nice with the appliances. And of course I need to paint.
I’m very pleased with how it’s turned out — just a few minor glitches to deal with during the whole process. The worst part was waiting four weeks for the kitchen to be functional again.
Having part of this wall gone makes a huge difference in the feel of both rooms.
Here’s a better view of the counter top. It’s Meganite, a man-made, solid surface product. You remember the old counter and drawers don’t you?
Much better!

Swanky! OMG tell me you didn’t get a soap thingie? Goodness and built in spoon trays? Wow that looks nice! I bet you got a build in trash drawer too…
I want to remodel my new house!
Get some rest!
Thanks! No trash drawer, I’m still trying to figure out where to put that. There is a really nice slide-out pot rack in the cabinet next to the stove though.
Great looking kitchen for sure! It’s been fun to watch the progress of it all.Great selection on materials,it really looks great and functional too.I’m sure you’re happy to finally have a working kitchen. We have done alittle remodeling in our new place, just a closet that took a week to build. It made me appreciate alittle what you’ve gone through for the past several months. Now on with the cooking don’t worry about the dishes, the dishwasher will handle that for you.Enjoy!
