There is an old barn in the middle of Governor Dodge State Park. A reminder of a farm that existed years ago on the same land.
I enjoyed looking at all the details of the aging structure — especially the places that had vague remnants of the barn’s last coat of paint.
Whenever I see old buildings like this, I wonder about their history. Who lived there? What was the farm like in its prime?
Will this barn still be standing 50 years from now?
Hi Jon: Just saw your old barn photo. Great. Reminded me of what the writer of barns, Jerry Apps said – every barn has hundreds of stories to tell. Look at it and imagine the many human and animal dramas and episodes that happened inside those old weather stained boards that enclose the space we call barn.
