Oh Spring, Spring! Wherefore art thou Spring?

This is not the kind of evening commute I expect in southern Wisconsin on April 18.

Today I noticed the bleeding heart plant in front of my house has emerged and is about 8 inches tall. I noticed this WHILE I WAS SHOVELING SNOW.

Ah, spring in Wisconsin.

I caught these mallard ducks practicing their synchronized swimming routine.

On a cold and dreary spring day, I went out looking for some color. I did find some… indoors (in the conservatory at Olbrich Botanical Gardens).

Saw some snowdrops today, the first flowers I’ve seen outside this year.

Caught this northern cardinal proudly singing away and claiming his territory. Another welcome sign of spring.

The structure of oak trees makes them just as beautiful bare, as they are with leaves.

Another sign that spring is almost here.
