Scenes from a foggy Capitol Square
Inspired by the excellent fog pictures my nephew Mike took, I headed to the square yesterday evening to see what I could do with the unusual winter weather.
Best albums I heard in 2010
My list of the best albums I heard this year, along with some songs from those albums.
Arcade Fire – The Suburbs.
This was my favorite record of the year.
Mother Nature’s holiday spirit
Even Mother Nature gets into the holiday spirit, showing us those Christmas colors. Happy Holidays everyone!
Ice scraper needed
As I was shooting these two photos from the same corner, I imagined a telephone conversation going on while the wind and snow were adding to the frustration.
“Can you bring me an ice scraper? I can’t get in my van.”
Scenes from a wintry neighborhood
Despite my complaints about shoveling snow, I do think winter storms can sure make my neighborhood look magical.
Pinesicle
Ice ornaments
I think Lake Monona is getting into the holiday spirit. Making ornaments from cold air and water.
Tame mallards
Mallard ducks (which are very common in Wisconsin) are not as fearful of humans as other wildlife can be.
Being fairly tame, they don’t seem to mind posing for some closeups.
