I don’t know about anyone else, but I sure could use a new beginning. Today’s weather in Madison was beautifully fitting for the first day of spring. When I came across these snowdrops, I saw them as nature’s hopeful promise of new beginnings to come.

Last week I came across this antique from my favorite railroad, The Chicago & North Western Railway, and just had to buy it. Looking at the lamp, I wonder about all of the people who carried and used it while working for the C&NW. Where along the tracks of the railroad did this lamp light their way?
