Scilla (or Siberian squill). One of my favorite spring flowers, I love the way its small blossoms can cover an entire area with blue.
Beaver sign in Madison
Yes, there are beavers living in the city of Madison. I saw these trees along the Starkweather Creek, a few blocks south of Milwaukee Street. I’ve also seen similarly chewed trees in Vilas Park along Lake Wingra.

I had every intention to go on a hike or bike ride today. Instead, on the nicest day we’ve had in a long time, I spent most of the afternoon doing yardwork. [insert eye-roll here] So after supper I talked myself into going on a sunset walk. Not a bad day after all.
