Under a yellow maple

Today was a perfect day to hike Picnic Point.

Bales of corn silage, ready for winter storage.

Soon, all that’ll be left from the autumn celebration will be the used confetti on the ground.

Autumn has definitely arrived in Madison.

Every year I’m amazed that such thin stalks (with heavy corncobs) can get so tall. These were at least ten feet high.

The ash tree in front of my house is always the first one on the block to start shedding its leaves. Welcome to autumn.

This neighborhood maple tree wasn’t fooled by the unusually warm and muggy weather of the past week. It has a definite schedule to follow.

The morning after Madison’s first inch or so of significant snow, a few colorful leaves can still be found.

We’ve reached the time of the year when I take pictures of fallen leaves.
