“Painted” lily

I thought the colors and patterns of this blackberry lily (also known as a leopard lily) looked like they were painted on.

I could have used a deeper depth of field here (the head is not quite in focus), but my favorite thing about this photo are those hairy legs!

I was taking a photo of this brilliantly colored ~~zinnia~~ Mexican sunflower when I noticed a tiny spider sitting on the edge of the stamen.

What you get when you combine wood chips with a lot of rain and humidity.

Dandelion gone to seed.

Ants are working hard at helping my peony flowers open up.

It’s peak blossoming time for all the fruit trees in the neighborhood. Sure smells fresh and sweet around here.

When yesterday’s snow storm was done, at least it did still look like spring in a few spots.
