We’ve had dense fog in Madison for two straight days. Some people complain about the gloominess the fog brings, but I love its mysterious nature.

My favorite view in all of Wisconsin
I’ve visited the Black Lagoon along the Star Lake Nature Trail (in northern Wisconsin) many times before. Yet whenever I am in the area, I am always drawn back there to see it again.
When I take the boardwalk path over the bog, and the scene reveals itself, I’m almost overwhelmed by the serene beauty. That feeling hits me every time I visit, even though I know what to expect.
I can’t wait to see it again.

Winter “waves” crash the shore
It’s funny how water, whether in a frozen or liquid state, seems to behave the exact same way (albeit at drastically different speeds).
Cirrus clouds over Door County
The day I climbed the tower in Peninsula State Park last week, the sight of the clouds in the sky were just as interesting as the vistas of the Lake Michigan shore.
Eagle Bluff Lighthouse
Peninsula State Park’s Eagle Bluff Lighthouse, one of the many historic lighthouses still standing in Door County.
It’s now a museum run by the local historical society.
The bike trails of Peninsula State Park
Last week I was camping at Peninsula State Park. I just love the network of bike trails there.
Using the trails (and bike lanes along the road) you can take in almost every terrain the park has to offer.
