Autumnal snow
Just a day after the snow melted away this weekend, we got another 3 inches on Monday. I wonder what this unusually snowy (and cold!) autumn says about our winter-to-come?

Because of my bike accident and bum leg (which does seem to be healing up nicely), I haven’t been out there to check out the colors this year. I’ve been looking at some older autumn photos and processing them using some better post processing techniques I’ve learned over the past few years. This shot of yellow birch and red oak trees now has a much better contrast and color range.

Church of the small pines
This group of young pine trees reminded me of a church with a tall steeple. Big Bay State Park.
Leaf texture
Sometimes the texture of the leaves is only revealed when the light is just right. I suppose the lesson is, you need to wait for the light if you want the truth to be illuminated.
Canopy light
Those spots of backlit tree branches are one of my favorite things about walking through the woods.
