Last glimpse of the sun

I spent last week camping in Wisconsin’s Northern Highland State Forest. This was the sunset view at my campsite on Trout Lake.

It’s been feeling a bit like winter this week — twenty degrees below normal! But the trees aren’t fooled, it’s growing time.

Someone was not very happy with the tops of these trees.

I see flowers and foliage in our near future.

I love the shadows of trees as they hit the snow this time of year.

Despite the strong winds and storms the past few days, a few leaves are still hanging on.
