A premature winter
This past week or so, we’ve had 25 degree below normal temperatures and three days of snow accumulation (totaling over 12 inches). This morning’s temp was 9(f)! Too soon Winter, too soon.

Went on a winter hike yesterday. Hopefully the last of the season — the forecast is finally warming up!
Snow piles of 2019
I’ve been living in my house for just about 10 years now, and I think these are the largest snow piles I’ve had. Okay Winter, that’s enough out of you. Make way for Spring.
Winter again
A decent snow storm and bitter cold temperatures have brought winter back to southern Wisconsin — as it should be.

It’s been grey and brown for so much of the winter so far, that scenes like this are starting to look interesting to me.
Melted memory
That beautiful snow we got last week is all but a melted memory. Makes me wonder if we’ll reach snowshoeing levels of snow this winter in Madison? Sadly, we didn’t last year.

A little snow on the ground, and breakfast at Madison’s Jet Room restaurant has me dreaming of flying off to warm, exotic places.

Springtime in January
I hiked through Lewis Nine Springs E-Way and above average temperatures today. With the warmth and the sunshine it felt like springtime in January. It sure has been a strange winter so far.
