My father and I just returned from a trip to Tennessee, where we spent most of our time in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park.
When you drive through the park, it’s difficult to keep your eyes on the road as scenic views emerge.
Our destination for the first day was Cades Cove, a valley surrounded by the mountains.
We were there on a Sunday, with a lot of other tourists.
As you drive through the Smokies, there are countless scenic views along the roadway, like Meigs Falls below.
Hard to believe that it was a week ago today that we were in Cades Cove. Photos say yes we were there, and remind me of the great scenes we saw. All you’ve posted are excellent – I think I like the vertical one – the first photo posted – the best because it shows the road, the mountain and the thick foliage along the sides of the road.
Hi Jon,
Fabulous pictures. Did you do a lot of hiking? It must have been beautiful. Thanks for all the great pictures.
Glad to hear your trip was good.
Love,
Barbra
Thanks for the compliments. We did a little hiking, but not very much. Most of the real scenic places you pretty much have to drive to.
