Five days ago I returned from a trip to Washington D.C. with my father. We had a great time. Rather than put up a separate page of pictures, I decided to post several blog entries over the next week or so and include the photos that way.

I haven’t been to Washington since I was in high school and it was great to visit some of the Smithsonian museums and national monuments on the mall. The size of the Washington Monument was very striking to me. When you’re next to the Capitol you can see it in the distance and it looks big, but you realize the enormity of it when you walk the distance from the Capitol (over a mile) and watch the monument keep reaching higher for the sky as you get closer.
