Wildflowers of Door County

A sampling of wildflowers I spotted last week.

Indian paintbrush wildflower

I love the deep orange color of the Indian Paintbrush (above).

Columbine wildflower

I also saw some Wild Columbine.

Dame's Rocket wildflower

And some Dame’s Rocket (which I discovered is actually an invasive plant).

  1. Thanks for sharing the wild flowers with their array of colors –
especially liked your identification of them. Most of the time
I’m at a loss to know what their proper names are. Favorite –
    Wild Columbine,

  2. Thanks for the comment. It’s probably the librarian in me that’s compelled to document details like proper names. I had to do a bit of research to find the name for the Indian Paintbrush flower (which I didn’t know before).
