Scenic overlook of the Wisconsin and Mississippi Rivers

I spent most of this week camping at Wisconsin’s Wyalusing State Park, located on the bluffs above the meeting point of the Wisconsin and Mississippi Rivers.

I ended up getting a campsite right along the bluff. Those sites are great for the views, but aren’t so great for privacy. Life is a compromise though, right?

Pikes Peak State Park (across the Mississippi River in Iowa), also has some fantastic vistas. Wyalusing, where I was staying, is the bluff in the background of this photo.

  1. The view of where Wisconsin and Mississippi come together is one of my all time favorites. Thanks for posting and bringing back memories from when I lived in the area, 1956-1960
