I went biking on the brand new Lower Yahara River Trail for the first time today.
The paved trail starts near Lake Farm County Park (where it connects to the Capital City State Trail), travels through prairie, woods, and then the highlight: a one-mile boardwalk that crosses Lake Waubesa alongside the Wisconsin & Southern Railroad tracks.
What a nice addition to the area’s system of trails.
What a neat looking new bike trail. Both the Board Walk and the Prairie part look really well done – and by the “traffic” on the board walk, it is being well appreciated, even some people just walking on it. How great to live in a county that promotes and creates such beautiful places.
