At the Mad City Model Railroad show last weekend, there was an N-scale layout that featured an excellent model of the Chicago & North Western Railway’s lakefront station in Milwaukee. It was created by modelers of Midwest Modutrak, and they deservedly won the award for best layout of the show.
The full scale version of this station was unfortunately demolished long ago — even the Chicago & North Western no longer exists, but automobile traffic still goes over this bridge. If you’re familiar with the area, the Milwaukee Art Museum would be to the left of the above photo.
Oh to be able to go back in time, walk through this station, and ride one of those beautiful Chicago & North Western trains to my next vacation…

A good model of the site – thanks for posting. I remember using that station way back during my college days.
