The Great River State Trail

While I was vacationing in Western Wisconsin, I took a day and biked the Great River State Trail.

My favorite spot on the trail was this old railroad bridge. I’ll share some more pics of that in a future post.

Like most trails that were build on abandoned railbeds, the Great River State Trail does have long, straight (almost monotonous) stretches that go along farms, prairies, and through dense woods. But this trail does have a few more scenic views than the average former-railroad trail in Wisconsin, like the above bridge, and spots that overlook the Mississippi River.
