Totality

The sun's corona, visible during a solar eclipse. A hint of red color is visible in the corona near the top of the sun's blocked-out silhouette.

I decided to travel to totality for yesterday’s solar eclipse. It was the first time I’ve ever witnessed a total solar eclipse, and it was an amazing experience!

I darkened the exposure settings on the last image, and managed to capture some solar prominences. Not bad for the first time I ever attempted this! Maybe I can get in some more practice again on a future eclipse?

  1. Your photos are awesome. Just as good and better than images seen on TV. Thanks for sharing totality for those of us who didn’t see it.
