This scuplture, Let the Great Spirit Soar by artist Harry Whitehorse, stands in Madison’s Hudson Park, which overlooks Lake Monona. It’s possibly my favorite piece of public art in the city.

Harry Whitehorse was a member of the Ho-Chunk nation. There are also two effigy mounds located in the park, believed to have been created by ancestors of the Ho-Chunk people.
