Since yesterday was Thanksgiving Day here in the United States, I thought it might be good to post some things I’ve been thankful for recently.

• The exciting opportunity of a new job.
• Being supported by family and friends.
• The beauty of the natural world.
• The opportunity to travel.
• Music and all of its charms.

Finally, I am thankful for the library patron I talked to the other day. He heard that I was resigning from the Oak Creek Public Library and wanted to tell me how grateful he was for the work I did there. About a year or so ago, he was laid off from a position he held for quite a few years. He told me that he didn’t think he would have found another good job without some of the assistance I had given him with his search. It felt good to hear that I’ve made a difference in people’s lives with the work I do. For that, I am also thankful.
