I got out my snowshoes for the first time this winter.
Cherokee Marsh was beautifully quiet and serene, except for the crunching of my snowshoes, and the occasional sounds the woodpeckers made.
At the top of the hill, a bench, and a place to put my feet up and enjoy the view.

Looks like fun. I want to get a pair of those someday.
I like my snowshoes a lot. I first tried them after I had a hard time learning to cross country ski (could never get balanced right, and fell a lot). The great thing about snowshoes is you don’t have to learn to use them, you just walk. Though you do end up using different muscles you don’t normally use, lifting your legs a bit differently.
Geraldine and I just looked at your snowshoe walk – as always great photos. Thanks for sharing. warmer here than in Madison.
