Autumnal blossom
There’s something special about flowers that bloom in autumn (like this chicory). Perhaps because they appear at a time when everything else seems to be turning brown and dying off.
Autumn colors in the fog
After I hit the farmers market today, I spent some time downtown, where the autumn colors were doing their best to brighten a foggy morning.
Almost sky high
Hiking through the prairie at Lake Farm County Park, I was amazed by how tall the prairie grass gets. This patch had to be at least eight feet tall.

Elroy-Sparta State Trail

My favorite view in all of Wisconsin
I’ve visited the Black Lagoon along the Star Lake Nature Trail (in northern Wisconsin) many times before. Yet whenever I am in the area, I am always drawn back there to see it again.
When I take the boardwalk path over the bog, and the scene reveals itself, I’m almost overwhelmed by the serene beauty. That feeling hits me every time I visit, even though I know what to expect.
I can’t wait to see it again.
