I can always count on a visit to Olbrich Botanical Gardens when I’m in need of some inspiration.
Early yesterday evening, it was this patch of coneflowers.

Ticket window
An old ticket window like this makes me wonder about all the people that passed through this train station. What were their stories? Where were they headed?
Rusty steam
The Illinois Railway Museum has a fine collection of restored rolling stock. But I found their fleet of rusty and corroded steam locomotives to be much more fascinating.
Milwaukee Road 37A
This E9 diesel locomotive was manufactured in 1961, and originally served on the Milwaukee Road’s long-distance Hiawatha passenger service, traveling at speeds up to 95mph.
All barns should be red
I love the look of red barns. In summer, they combine with lush greens and blue skies to make a perfect color palette. In winter, they contrast beautifully against the snow covered ground. All barns should be red.
This red barn is outside of London, Wisconsin, in Jefferson County.
