Watching the last light

A few days ago I got my bicycle out of hibernation and rode over to Tenney Park to watch the sunset. First ride of 2016.

Basking in the warmth

Looks like these local perennials appreciate the warm sunny weather just as much as I do.

Spotted a few common loons on Lake Monona the other day. A good pit stop for them on their annual migration to the lakes of the north.

Yesterday’s cold and windy weather created a wonderful sunset scene along Lake Mendota.

Someone was not very happy with the tops of these trees.

Found some crocus (and snowdrops) today at Olbrich Botanical Gardens.
Happy first day of spring everyone.

I see flowers and foliage in our near future.

A sure sign of spring’s arrival — sandhill cranes have returned to Wisconsin.
