A little color
The other day I visited the conservatory at Olbrich Gardens, to soak up some humidity and see a little color during this bleak period of winter. I did take some pictures of the flowers, but what really caught my eye was this tiny, young leaf basking in the sun.
It was so good to see new life growing, even though there were bitter cold temperatures just a few yards away.

Art on a frozen lake
This year, Timothy Browning’s annual Lake Monona art installation included the bones of a hodag-asaurus. Though when I went to see it, the hodag’s upper skull was missing.
