Saw all kinds of woolly bear caterpillars on the trail while biking the other day. It was a challenge to avoid running them over! This one had a pretty wide rusty-brown band, so if one believes the folklore, it should be a mild winter in southern Wisconsin.

Biking thru early autumn color
I took advantage of the beautiful, summer-in-October weather yesterday, and spent the afternoon biking on the Military Ridge State Trail. Some autumn colors out there, but still pretty early for peak.

Autumn ride
A long bike ride yesterday gave me some much needed outdoor time. I’ve learned over the years that if I don’t spend enough time outside, I can start to feel out of sorts. Some people ground themselves by meditating. Being out in nature, like biking the Lower Yahara River Trail, helps me accomplish that.
