Fueling for the journey

September 18, 2021InsectsJonathan

Side view of a monarch butterfly perched and feeding on a purple flower

I’ve heard the monarch butterflies are beginning to migrate south for the season. This one found these purple asters a good spot to fuel up for the journey.

A proverbial busy bee

Close up of a bee gathering nectar from the center of a bright yellow flower

A perfect summer day

August 16, 2021Bicycling, Cityscape, Landscape, ThoughtsJonathan

A recreational trail next to a lake with a view of the Madison skyline on opposite shore.

I took advantage of yesterday’s perfect summer weather to go on a long bike ride through the city. If only we could store beautiful days like that and bring them out when needed. How good would it be to experience a perfect summer day deep in the middle of winter? At least we’ll still have our memories to ponder, and photos to gaze at.
