I like to think this great blue heron was pondering the cold weather to come, and when they should fly south. More likely, they just felt annoyed I was watching them.

This great blue heron was kind enough to stand still for a pretty long photo session. Though I suspect she was probably just waiting for lunch to swim by.

I’m no morning person, so seeing this evening bird getting a worm makes me feel better about my life choices. American robin.

Came upon this grouchy female redwing blackbird while hiking. Must have been a nest nearby, there was much scolding.
