I came across these interesting beauties on a neighborhood walk. I had never seen tulips with frayed edges on the petals before. They’re officially called fringed tulips.

“Painted” lily
I thought the colors and patterns of this blackberry lily (also known as a leopard lily) looked like they were painted on.

I was taking a photo of this brilliantly colored zinnia Mexican sunflower when I noticed a tiny spider sitting on the edge of the stamen.
