These black-eyed Susans are still clinging to early autumn. Though they do look weary from the colder temperatures. The end is nigh I’m afraid.
Monarchs in the asters
I came across a dozen or so monarch butterflies today, enjoying nectar from the purple asters in Vilas Park.

Like an outdoor hothouse
I decided to fight my heat-wave related cabin fever by spending some time in the U.W. Arboretum. The flowers I came across (like this woodland sunflower) seem to appreciate the heat and humidity much more than I do.
