Magnolia at the golden hour

Today I noticed the bleeding heart plant in front of my house has emerged and is about 8 inches tall. I noticed this WHILE I WAS SHOVELING SNOW.

Ah, spring in Wisconsin.

On a cold and dreary spring day, I went out looking for some color. I did find some… indoors (in the conservatory at Olbrich Botanical Gardens).

Saw some snowdrops today, the first flowers I’ve seen outside this year.

Leave it to the flowers at Olbrich Botanical Gardens to brighten up a grey and cloudy day.

I complain about all the rain, and the hot & humid weather we’ve been experiencing, but the native wildflowers certainly like it.
